Who said I wasn't an art teacher over the summer?

It's good to be back!  This week marks our second week back in session and we are kicking off a wonderful school year here in the art department!  Plaster, oil pastels, permanent marker, colored wire and cardboard are just a few of the items students are finding themselves immersed in in my classes as we open the year.  What I love about this year is that we have revamped our schedule to better serve our children.  Now instead of seeing my students once every three days on a rotation that stretches throughout the entire school year, I am now seeing them everyday in two different six week sessions.  What a difference this has made to my curriculum.  To know that we can get involved in something and jump right back into it 24 hours later makes it possible to do some more extensive and challenging work!

I will try my best to update my blog weekly as I did last year!  The only thing that could stand in my way would be spending time with the little guy above.  He got his first taste of creating art with me over the summer as a very messy but very happy one year old!  All for the sake of nurturing creativity!

....It's good to be back!
